THE STORY OF NATHANIEL C. PANGARO

Ever since I was interviewed on WNBC News 4 NY - after my school alcohol-tested multiple students, resulting in a community uproar - I have had a deep interest in journalism. My interest has increased throughout my time in the journalism program at American University.

While at American University, I gained firsthand experience in the field and learned from experienced reporters. I then wrote stories covering many topics, from profiles to city council meetings and school politics.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in early 2020, I infused my interest in technology into my reporting style by conducting interviews over video conferencing platforms and working with team members via collaborative programs. I could successfully continue my journalistic studies and practices online — as I did in person — with little to no changes in my work ethic.

While studying remotely, I delved deeper into my interest in political issues—especially since it was an election year. I primarily wrote about the DACA program and how COVID-19 impacted the lives of students, immigrants, educators, and everyday people.

After graduating from American University, I started writing for The Student Loan Help Group. I wrote for a diverse audience about student loan debt, how it’s being handled, how to repay it, and any forgiveness being granted.

More notably, in June 2022, I joined the AppleInsider team as a Contributing Editor. I wrote articles on software and hardware tips, location visit experiences, and reviews related to various products.

While working with AppleInsider, I have been able to communicate with people who work directly with Apple’s communication department, form relationships with multiple tech brands, and experience new technologies I haven’t previously had the chance to do.

Additionally, while continuing to work at AppleInsider, I was also a Senior Content Creator for R3volution Brands. I oversaw a group of talented individuals based in the Philippines during my time with them.

They would create and generate various content and articles, and I would review and edit any work they supplied. I would also collaborate with higher-up officials on ways to expand and enhance the user experience on their various websites.

As I advance on my journalistic journey, I strive to inform various audiences about different beats surrounding technology or politics. From my previous experience and the road ahead, I plan to grow, reflect, and mold into the journalist I aspire to be.

I am Nathaniel C. Pangaro, and I am a journalist.
