Recognized with the Jerry Waldor Special Needs Fellowship for volunteering with The Friendship Circle from 2013 to 2017.
The Friendship Circle promotes understanding and respect for individuals with special needs through programs that connect children, families, volunteers, staff, and supporters.
For my Career Investigation project, I explored event planning and how it aligns with my strengths and interests. I researched the field, interviewed an event planner at Skylands in Randolph, N.J., and gathered venue photos. Drawing on work from my home economics class, I highlighted relevant skills and connected event planning to Family and Consumer Sciences. I analyzed the career’s past, present, and future and outlined a plan to achieve my goals and pursue a role in the industry.
