A PANGARO PRESIDENCY
2016 - 2018
In 2016, I began my journey in student leadership by running for class president with a vision to unite peers, amplify student voices, and improve initiatives. After winning decisively, I strengthened unity, revamped fundraising efforts, and established direct communication between students and administration. Reelected for a second term, I became a trusted advocate, addressing key issues and collaborating with school leadership to drive meaningful change. A defining moment came when I defended students’ rights after a controversial incident, earning recognition in major publications and leaving a lasting legacy of progress and unity.

A PRESIDENTAL JOURNEY
The Story of a Pangaro Presidency

My involvement in student politics and activism began in 2016 when I ran for class president. My campaign focused on improving fundraising, fostering class unity, and representing the student body’s voices. Facing three opponents, I delivered a well-received speech during the two-week campaign, boosting my popularity among classmates and ultimately winning the election to become class president.
As class president, I guided my leadership according to the principles outlined in my campaign. I introduced innovative fundraising strategies, fostered class unity through collaborative initiatives, and regularly engaged with school administration. I organized monthly student focus groups to address concerns and became the first class president to meet one-on-one with the superintendent. My accomplishments during the first term earned strong peer support, leading to my reelection for a second term.

During my second term as president, I built on the achievements of my first term and took a more active role in public speaking. I addressed monthly Board of Education meetings on topics previously discussed with administrators and spoke on current issues, including the teachers’ union no-confidence vote, changes to the school music program, and support for teachers facing role adjustments. Many of my remarks were later published in various media outlets.
As president, I used my public speaking and interpersonal skills to address issues affecting students, including women’s health, communication with administrators, accessibility, mental health, Wi-Fi access, and parking. I collected over 100 student signatures on women’s health concerns, worked with those affected by limited accessibility to explore solutions, collaborated with the school therapist to improve mental health support, and surveyed 90 students about parking, finding 98% had concerns. Through these efforts, I amplified student voices and advocated for their well-being.

One of the most significant moments of my presidency was the Board of Education’s decision to administer alcohol testing after an open beer can was found in the student section during a football game. As a student leader and one of those tested, I issued a public statement and was subsequently quoted in multiple publications, including Vice.
My presidency has been pivotal in Randolph High School's history, including leading the student body, communicating school events to staff and the community, advocating for unity, and promoting peace through strength. From my campaign slogan to the initiatives we implemented, my leadership contributed to meaningful improvements for the entire school community.
